Dear Rocketry Enthusiasts,
Next Sunday the 13th of April is the monthly scheduled launch morning for QRS at the Cedar Grove launch site from 8am weather and launch site dependent. If you are planning a L1 or L2 certification attempt can you please let the committee know in advance.
I know we ask this every month but we need volunteer with a tow ball to get the rocketry trailer and bring it to site. The trailer carries all the QRS equipment required for launching and without it launching rockets would be challenging. If you can help out (please), drop and email to Matt to organise.
Low power motors will be available from Endeavour Aerospace. Please contact Matt for stock and pricing.
The high vis bunting will be set up around the power lines and we politely ask people not to venture into the areas barricaded by the bunting during the launch event. Energex also request that we don't have people around the cars during the launches due to the risk of earth currents if one of the conductors was brought down. We have some new and shiny posters about this and will hopefully have them on display for the duration of the launch.
Cheers.
Simon.
Any update on the grounds? Looks like we've had a good deal of dry weather, and should be a sunny Sunday at this stage?
Weather is looking extremely mediocre here on the coast, not sure how much rain the site has had today though. Hopefully it remains coastal haha.

@anthonycaracella Sorry, I should have checked the forum more regularly.
All,
Despite the rain the day before Sunday's launch was fine and sunny, with large patches of blue between the clouds. Winds where a little gusty and times and we kept an eye on the anemometer. The ground was rather swampy in places but enough to run the launch.
A total of 16 entertaining launches with various degrees of success, A x 1 / C x 3 / D x 4 / E x 2 / F x 1 / H x 5.
Several L1 attempts were made but unfortunately none were successful. One unlucky rocket drifted into a neighboring property preventing retrieval.
Quite a few attempts at launching hybrid motors with much learning about systems and rockets. It's really great to see the development proceeding in this area.
Cheers.
Simon.
