They visited the launch site today to the coordinates I provided and they gate area. They have confirmed the nests as being Fire Ants, and so they treated the active nests with bait and marked the active/treated nests with pink spray paint.

They advised that from 01Oct'24, all new reports in this area will become "Self Treatment" where they will provide the reporter with the baits to self apply.

Please take care when getting out of the car to open the gates. I hadn't spotted them all in the morning when I arrived, just the biggest one close to the barbed wire fence, so keep a sharp eye out.

See the attached picture indicating the area more precisely. Take additional care when retrieving rockets from this area. I've reported it on-line as well for treatment action.

The cluster of nests is about 280m North West from the LCO desk. See attached picture 3. Map coordinates -27.849119, 152.961697
